This year the "Bal des Supplices" celebrated its 5th birthday by combining the best elements from the prior years into a smashing success that reconfirmed Lyon as a perfect destination spot for fetishists worldwide.

The special guests of the "Bal des Supplices" 2009 were some of the most principal and influential fetish personalities around: Kumi Monster and Amrita, who presented a stimulating display of live bondage with touches of humour, fire, and rope suspension; and Rubberdoll vs Faq, the "dynamic fetish duo" who featured their own special show of music, SM, fetish and pyrotechnics! In between performances, we danced to the sounds of French DJ Vyktor Nova and the always memorable AllenTG from Torture Garden.

France is famous for fashion and this year's party featured two local designers. We were introduced to the fashions of HMS Latex, a company founded in 2006 by Sophie Richardoz, based in Paris; and to Coeur Jolly founded by Sylvain, based the south of France who has been part of the Bal des Supplices since its inception. The HMS show featured a variety of colours with flourishes of the Near East showing up in delicate floral appliques on transparent sections of latex. On the other side of the spectrum, Sylvain took the stage surrounded by numerous lithe bodies to bring us a dark and sexy show featuring his unique and creative designs with exciting flashes of equine domination.

The French Fetish Market was a pleasant way to shop for kinky gifts as well as pick up some last minute wardrobe additions during the afternoon before the party.

We can only guess as to what next year will bring, but Julien and Marilyne, our wonderful hosts, shouldn't have a hard time convincing people to attend. Great food, renowned wines,and friendly people all combined in a very favorable and easy to reach destination make this party a not-to-miss event!
